Overview
Bodywork restoration:
The bodywork was in very good condition before the overhaul (unwelded, accident- and corrosion-free) and was therefore an ideal starting point for a high-quality restoration.
The following work was carried out:
- Body completely ice-blasted
- All-round bodywork stripped of paint using glass bead/plastic blasting
- Lacquer structure
General overhaul of engine/transmission:
Motor
This 911 was delivered from the factory with the 165 hp engine variant, whereas the 911S, the sports version at the time, already had 175 hp.
As the "small" 911 tended to overheat, Porsche installed an oil cooler in the front right fender of the 911S to achieve better cooling of the engine.
This 911 was converted to 911S technology as part of the general overhaul:
- Mahle piston and cylinder set from the 911S
- Oil cooler from the 911S
- Replacement of all components such as pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, connecting rod bearings, crankshaft bearings, bearing shells, seals and much more.
Gearbox
- Replacement of all components such as main bearings, fixed/shift gears, synchronizer rings, seals and much more.
- Replacement clutch kit
Interior restoration:
Contrary to the delivery state with beige artificial leather, only high-quality genuine leather and contemporary materials were used:
- Seats upholstered in genuine beige leather
- Seat center panels in Pepita
- Dashboard in genuine black leather
- Steering wheel in genuine black leather
- etc.
